Terms and conditions:
Acceptance of a quote/proposal by Technique Interiors is an acknowledgement that these terms and conditions have been fully read and understood. Acceptance of a quote/proposal can be made via electronic communication, in writing or by verbal/handshake agreement.
Payment.
1. A 50% deposit prior to commencement is required for all projects, this secures your position in the queue and goes towards procurement of materials and peripheral costs and is non-refundable.
2. For projects $0- $4999 a 50% final payment is due on completion.
3. For all projects $5000 + a 40% progress payment is due prior to installation with a 10% balance due upon completion.
4. Maximum payment terms are 7 days.
5. An interest charge of 5% of outstanding monies will be charged every 7 days until paid in full.
6. Retention of any monies is not accepted.
7. “Pay when paid” agreements are not accepted.
8. Payments can be made via EFT or cash.
9. In the event of a natural disaster/ national or state emergency/pandemic/sabotage or excessive delays caused by a third-party Technique Interiors reserves the right to receive payment Pro rata to job completion.
10. Any unforeseen works that are necessary e.g., the discovery and removal of asbestos or rectification of damaged substrate will be charged additionally to the quote/proposal. The homeowner/principal contractor will be notified prior to works where applicable.
11. A quote/proposal with multiple joinery items is considered a package to be made and installed concurrently. If a joinery package is then broken down into new quotes/proposals and made and installed in stages then the addition of those stages will likely not reflect the original quote/proposal.
Homeowner / Principal contractor responsibilities.
1. The homeowner/ principal contractor is responsible for the identification/location/isolation/de-energisation of any service or utility either in wall, inground, on, above or below installation site or area with potential to be affected by works carried out by Technique Interiors or associated trades and services.
2. The homeowner/principal contractor is responsible for obtaining relevant permits/engineering documentation or permission for any work to take place.
3. The homeowner/ principal contractor to provide access to power and water.
4. The homeowner/principal contractor to provide safe access and egress to site.
5. The homeowner/principal contractor is to ensure all personal items and belongings to be removed from installation area. Technique Interiors will take all due care in providing adequate protection on site however will bear no responsibility for incidental damages.
6. Additional fees may be incurred for the removal and relocation of personal items and furniture.
7. An additional charge of $300 may be incurred if Technique Interiors and associated trades and services are unable to carry out their duties due to circumstances involving the homeowner/principal contractor or unassociated third parties.
Materials and workmanship.
Technique Interiors prides itself on designing and creating work to the highest possible standards using proven techniques and methodologies. Our products are thoughtfully created to stand the test of time, however goods both natural and manmade have limitations and tolerances.
1. Technique Interiors will not be responsible for the failure of a product if the failure was due to the fault of a third party manufacturer.
2. Technique Interiors selects colours and materials based on a product name, code, or type. Technique Interiors takes no responsibility for the subjectiveness of materials.
3. Technique Interiors acclimates, finishes and treats natural timber with the best possible methods and techniques however this does not guarantee the product to be insusceptible to natural movements. If adverse natural movement occurs Technique Interiors should be notified immediately.
4. Technique Interiors bears no responsibility for natural products effected by extreme weather conditions or products installed in areas with fluctuating weather conditions.
5. The defects liability period is 90 days from completion.
6. Technique Interiors is to be notified immediately of any defects.
7. Warranties and guarantees on hardware items and finishes are that of the manufacturer, Technique Interiors does not extend warranties and guarantees of third party products with it’s own warranties and guarantees.
8. During installation in established and finished homes it is common to make small marks , scuffs and scratches on painted,plasterboard or other surfaces in the installation area whilst fitting . These surfaces may require some ‘Touching up‘ , this is the responsibility of the homewoner/principal contractor.
